Drake reveals Nike's sub-label NOCTA

The week started with a new deal, with the sports apparel Nike announcing its partnership with the rapper Drake.

The Grammy Award winner released a statement revealing his partnership with the brand. The deal is an unprecedented one for Nike. It didn't offer Drake the opportunity to name a collection or a particular outfit as it has done over the years with Michael Jordan, but his very own label. NOCTA, short for "nocturnal creative process," will contain a puffer that will come in three different colors and matching sweatsuits. According to Drake, "NOCTA is about creating something for people on the move. People who want functional, comfortable fits that are adaptable from one environment to the next." It is not the first time when Drake and Nike are collaborating. Earlier this year, the two released the co-branded Certified Lover Boy merch.

The NOCTA collection will be available worldwide starting December 18.

However, Drake is not the first entertainer to collaborate with a designer brand. Rapper Kanye West closed earlier this year a deal with GAP. One of Nike’s competitors, Adidas - has worked with Pharell and actor Jonah Hill, its latest collaboration being with Beyonce.

Following the news, Nike's stock price gained 0.37%.
