A dark day for Oil, Monday review, April 20

The week started with a shock for the international markets. As the demand decreased and with no prospects in sight, the futures oil price turned negative for the first time ever.

The US

Yesterday was a historic day as Oil prices went south, and wrote a page in the history book. Oil futures traded negative for the first time in history. It dropped to -$37.63. Indices lost too: USA30 fell 2.4%, while USA500 dropped 1.8%. TECH100 went down 1%.

Gold also lost yesterday 0.32% to trade at $1,705.70.

ICE gained 0.2% to 99.90.


Asia and Australia

Japan225 fell 1.2%, and Australia’s ASX lost 1.7%.

USD/JPY gained 0.2% to trade at 107.65.

AUD/USD traded at $0.6300.

Europe

UK100 and Germany30 gained 0.2% each.

GBP/USD was at a high of $1.2400.

EUR/USD went up by 0.1%.
