Business as usual for Apple, pandemic does not alter traditional September product launch

Despite the pandemic, Apple is on its way to release new iPhone models later this year.

Apple is said to release the new phone models in September, as tradition dictates. The models will have support for the long-debated 5G networks, 3D cameras, and new screen sizes for the Pro models, according to Bloomberg.com.

As far as the 5G network, Apple is late to the party, as Samsung implemented this since 2019.

If the tradition is followed, alongside iPhones, a new Apple Watch will be released. The new watch will be able to track a person's sleep. Once again, this feature is already a part of the Fitbit watches. Speculations are made about faster performance and increased water resistance.

Also, according to Bloomberg.com, Apple might offer some of its digital services as a bundle subscription in 2020. The subscription will consist of: Apple News+, Apple TV+, and Apple Music.

Earlier this month, it announced that it would ship the iPhone SE at a starting price of $399. Overall, analysts believe that Apple will ship 197 million iPhones, and the sales for 2021 will have a kick-start once the 5G version is released.

The revenue estimates made by Apple were more promising than Wall Street's consensus of $62.4 billion, between $63 billion and $67 billion.

After the announcement, Apple shares opened 0.2% higher in the pre-market, and traded at $283.50.

For the Q2 earnings report, the EPS is expected to be $2.33, with sales of $55.61 billion.
