The ProShares UltraPro S&P500 (Upro) is created to offer returns amounting to three times the performance of the USA500 Index on a day to day basis. However, it would help if you always kept in mind that there is no guarantee the funds will meet their stated investment objective. The fund invests in financial instruments that could produce daily returns consistent with the fund's investment objective. UPRO, as a leveraged product, is not perceived as a buy-and-hold ETF, it's a short-term tactical instrument. Over more prolonged periods, returns can vary significantly. Being a short-term instrument, the total cost of owning UPRO depends more on liquidity than management costs.
The USA500 Index includes five hundred selected stocks, all of which are listed on national stock exchanges and spans over approximately 24 separate industry groups.
