Microsoft allows permanent remote work

As the pandemic seems to be nowhere near an end, work-from-home is a viable option to keep people safe. Various companies such as Twitter, Facebook, and Google announced that their employees could work from home forever, or for as long as they want.

Now, another company is revising its work-from-home strategy. Microsoft stated that its staff could work remotely permanently if their respective managers are allowing. The company believes that this work would give employees more flexibility, maintain people’s work styles, and balance the business’ needs. Also, they can domestically relocate and even move to another country.

If employees decide to work remote permanently, their assigned offices will be reassigned, but they are free to use the space available at the company’s headquarters.

However, those who need to access the hardware labs, data centers and must attend various training will have to come to the office.

Following the news, Microsoft stock price closed the trading session 1.7% higher.
