T-Mobile unit outperformed in Q3

The Bonn-based group Deutsche Telekom posted its Q3 2020 financial figures, land its results impressed the markets.

Telekom’s revenue reached €26.4 billion, marking a 31.9% increase from last year’s numbers. The figures topped the €25.8 billion expected. At the same time, the earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization after leases (EBITDA AL) went up 49.6% to €9.7 billion.

For the future, Telekom raised its guidance for core profit to €35 billion. The decision came after its T-Mobile unit posted higher-than-expected figures in the past quarter. “We are raising our guidance thanks to the strong business on both sides of the Atlantic. We are able to do this despite feeling the effects of the (coronavirus) pandemic in some areas.”

Following the news, Deutsche Telekom stock price went up 0.79%. T-Mobile closed 2.82% higher.
