The latest data from the Department of Labor showed a negative result once again. The figures for weekly #unemployment claims came in higher than those forecasted.
Last week, 870,000 people filed for unemployment benefits for the first time due to the #pandemic. The market was looking for 845,000 new claims.
New York and Georgia reported the most significant increase at a state level, with 9,000 claims and more than 6,000, respectively.
The gloomy data came in at a time when the US lawmakers are trying to make another stimulus package possible, after the Federal Reserve's Chairman, Jerome Powell asked for more fiscal support.
After the data release, USA30 lost 0.7%.
